Janel Knight Trulear is a writer and storyteller eager to help break down complex subjects and develop messaging to build awareness. 

She is a former Emmy-nominated television journalist. For over 14 years she covered breaking news, politics, and social issues. 

Through her media experience, she can help clients hone their message, and boost confidence during interviews and other public appearances. 

Janel enjoys getting involved in community groups to make a difference and frequently partners with non-profits using her platform to spread awareness. 

She graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a double minor in multi-ethnic studies and justice.

Janel was born and raised in Boston, MA but her family hails from the Caribbean nations of Barbados and Jamaica. She currently lives in Harrisburg, PA with her husband and three children.
