Kristin Williams is a writer and content strategist with more than 16 years of experience building brand and issue awareness for mission-driven organizations. As a Senior Director at EMC Communications, she develops strategies to elevate the expertise of our clients so that they can move the needle on important issues.

Before joining EMC Communications, Kristin managed marketing and communications for Root Capital, a global nonprofit fostering entrepreneurship in rural communities. Using cross-channel digital strategies, she improved the organization’s engagement with key audiences, fostered thought leadership opportunities, and increased philanthropic support. Prior to that, Kristin was senior writer and communications manager for an international peacebuilding think tank, responsible for creating and disseminating op-eds and other policy content.

In both consultant and in-house positions, Kristin has channeled the brand voice of organizations working on a range of issues, from gender equity to climate change to economic justice. She believes in the power of storytelling to drive social and political progress. Kristin lives with her partner in Cambridge, MA, and is always on the lookout for good book recommendations.
